The bill everyone is receiving now is the difference between the 3-month average billed last month and your actual bill, PLUS your actual April-May consumption since they resumed operations and are already able to do meter readings. Moreover, Meralco has published last 9 April that rates will increase due to Universal Charge.
Another huge factor to consider is the high summer temperature that causes your appliances, especially aircons, to work harder, ultimately resulting to higher electrical consumption in general.
